My name is Anita, and I offer Norwegian lessons online.
I’ve been teaching Norwegian since 2014.

All lessons are one-on-one, so the focus is 100 % on your progress.
We use Zoom.
Lessons are 30 or 50 minutes long.

ABOUT THE LESSONS
We work on all language skills: reading, writing, speaking, listening, and grammar – but with a focus on conversation and vocabulary.
The goal is to be able to use the language in everyday life.
I offer different lesson types so you can choose something that interests you.

Since the lessons are one-on-one, we focus on your personal development, and we go at your own pace.

I use a variety of resources, including excerpts from textbooks, articles, exercises, music, images, and videos. It’s important that the material is both interesting and relevant for you.
When learning a new language, variation is key – you need to hear and see the words in many different contexts.

EASY, FLEXIBLE BOOKING

  • Choose your lesson type.

  • Choose 30 or 50 minutes

  • Pick a time in the calendar and pay (you can also buy 10-lesson packages)

  • For Nivå 1 / Nivå 2, Tegnefilm or Tema lessons: prepare before the lesson. You will receive material by email.

  • Get a mug of coffee or tea, show up on Zoom and enjoy your lesson! :-)

CHOOSE BETWEEN FOUR DIFFERENT LESSON TYPES

NIVÅ 1 / NIVÅ 2 (Level 1 / Level 2)
For levels A0 to B2. Basic Norwegian
Vocabulary, grammar, listening comprehension, and conversation.
We practice everything, but with a focus on communication and vocabulary.
Materials are included.
Complete beginner? Choose Level 1.

TEGNEFILM (Cartoon)
Practice listening skills and expand your vocabulary in a fun, entertaining and very effective way!
Watch a cartoon before the lesson and learn new words from a PDF.
We will talk about the story in the lesson. Practice your new vocabulary!
The cartoon may be in standard Norwegian or a dialect.
Let me know your preference when booking.
Learning vocabulary and grammar is a lot easier with a story.

TEMA (Topic)
Become better at understanding fast, natural Norwegian in the media.
Each lesson focuses on a topic, for example lifestyle, culture, happenings, society, etc.
You will receive an article and a link to either a TV episode or a podcast + vocabulary and comprehension questions before the lesson.
Prepare by reading/watching/listening before the lesson.
We will discuss the topic and go through any questions you might have.

SAMTALE (conversation practice)
Looking for speaking practice?
I have loads of interesting topics and ideas we can talk about – or maybe you have something specific in mind?
We can also describe pictures. Variety is important!

Can’t find a suitable time in the booking calendar? Send me a message and I’ll see what I can do.
You can change or cancel your booking up to 18 hours before the lesson starts.

PLATFORM
We use Zoom.
You will receive a Zoom link when you book.
Let me know if you prefer a different platform (for example, Google Meet).

WHAT LANGUAGE DO WE USE IN THE LESSONS?
We use Norwegian as much as possible! Or English.
I speak standard Norwegian (bokmål), and sometimes a dialect (Ålesund / western Norwegian), depending on your level.
I also understand German, Russian, and Spanish, so you can use those languages if you prefer!

EXPLANATIONS AND TRANSLATIONS
Articles and cartoons: explanations are in simple Norwegian and English.
If English does not work for you - let me know!
